It's official

The blog is dead. New website coming soon. Go follow me on twitter. Which I actually update.
Some disgruntled monkeys got into the machinery. I knew we should have paid them better, but nobody would listen. Redesign is under way, this'll be sorted out soon enough. Update: In the process of updating Habari to a newer version I managed to somehow obliterate the database file and thus all my posts. Also rendered my previous design unusable (at least temporarily)... Thankfully I was able to grab the few posts off google cache. Stuck with this design for the moment, though. Rest of the website is coming together and should be up within the week.

I wake up

I wake up. Later than intended, probably due to the utter lack of sunlight outside. It is thick overcast, and were it a sunny day this would only be 8am bright. Head feels better than yesterday, but as a precaution I go outside and run a mile in the light rain. I forgot it was a school day, and was surprised to see so much activity on my normal route. Hopefully nobody thought I was a creeper in my hoodie.

Stolen from Chase Jarvis' post yesterday, I'm gonna shake my tree today and do the following:

    Backup Work (Done)
    Read through a photo book
    Develop a new idea
    Shoot in the rain
    Concept a video
    Post a new photo
    Put together a book
    Develop a portfolio
Finish up my web design projects

"Jordann hearts Andrew forevr, maybe." Scrawled onto the side of my booth in an odd Chinese restaurant. The entire booth was covered, juxtaposing the fine art on the wall to my left. I puzzled over the menu for a while until the waitress came over. Not knowing what to order, I asked her what was good. #14 apparently, with a side of french fries. Good indeed. On my way out the door, intending to head back to the highway she asked if I was from around here. After I told her I wasn't she said "Well, I hope you don't have to stay long." Then provided me with an interesting photo location to check out before I left.

A few blocks and some left turns later I was standing in Graffiti covered alleyways with a couple thousand dollars of camera gear and a white unmarked van pulling up. Half-expecting the man wearing a t-shirt and shorts in 40 degree weather to mug me, I was pleasantly surprised when he just wanted to talk about earthquake damage from six years ago. "I was the first one to run out of Safeway!" he proudly exclaimed. It wouldn't surprise me if he trampled small children and the elderly to get that title.

Took my fairly cool alleyway shots and got the hell back on the highway.
